Teaching Resources

Learning doesn't happen by listening. Something is learned when that something is heard, reflected upon, and practiced.

To that end, the resources recommended on this page are tools to help us reflect on and put into practice the teachings we listen to every week as part of our Sunday Gatherings.

Our most recent 12 weeks of teachings are always available for free download, and often other accompanying materials [Deep Sheets, slides] are available too. Or sign up for our Podcast to automatically download these teachings and resources weekly.

Suggested Readings

We're recommending the following books to coincide with our ongoing Sermon on the Mount teaching series. These books are great for group or individual study, and in some instances they have helped to shape the series’ teachings too.

Sitting At the Feet of Rabbi Jesus by Ann Spangler and Lois Tverberg

This book is an interesting and helpful study regarding the Jewish culture and context that shaped Jesus' message. A study guide has recently been published in conjunction with this book.

The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard

This book is an articulation of the kingdom of heaven and what it means to follow Jesus, living "right side up in an upside down world". Willard exposes the many ways in which our understanding of the Gospel has been corrupted by consumerism and has been presented as a gospel of sin management. It should be and is so much more, Willard writes: "In Jesus, the rule and reign of God is breaking in here and now and is available to all." Willard has also written a study guide for those who wish to go deeper with the book.
