Here are some ways that you can get involved with the.element either during a Tuesday night (because you have nothing to do while your son or daughter is at the.element) or at other random times:

Tuesday night involvement:

Join the Registration Team
Being a part of this team means you are committed to getting to know the names of the students as they come in and register each week. The responsibilities consist of: welcoming students with a smile, learning out registration process, operating a camera, and being able to man the computer station.

Join the Prayer Team
Whether you get together with the group of people praying, you pray on your own, or create your own group; the.element NEEDS prayer! Satan, of course, is always on the prowl and wants to find his way into the.element and we need people to fight against that. Our leaders each week come and give their time, love and energy to the students, though they love it, some days are wearing. Our students come and they may have had a long day at school, a rough time at home, a fight with their friends, or they just drank 4 2-liters of Mountain Dew; they need someone praying against distraction.

We value prayer more than most anything and welcome you to join with us in this area!

LifeGroup leaders
Being a part of a 7th or 8th grade student, you have a ton to offer. Adults tend to think they aren't cool enough to be a LifeGroup leader, but I beg to differ. The students, it's true, do love the 'hip/cool/trendy' leader, but they also love the fashionless, the old, the funny, the dorky and disheveled. Our students will love anyone that loves them, who is willing to listen to them, who can provide them with a little insight, and who will pray for them.

We take caution in allowing a parent to be involved at this capacity, though it can be a beautiful thing, it has the potential to backfire. We desire the.element to be a safe place for students, something they can own, be a part of, and thrive in. So if this is something you are thinking about, please check your motives. If you want to volunteer with us to check up on your child... please don't. However, if you want to give of your time to pour into the lives and show the love of God to a bunch of chaotic students, please contact Corrie.
