First-Time Visitors

Welcome to Mars Hill Kids!

Whether you're thinking about stopping by for just one Sunday or you're interested in sticking with us for a while, we're glad you're checking out Mars Hill Kids. The following are a few things that could be helpful to know before you get here.

Arriving a bit early...

is a good idea on your first day with us. Our parking lots can be busy on Sundays, and it'll take a couple minutes to fill out registration information for your child[ren].

Find us...

in the North Hallway at Mars Hill; this is easily accessible from all four main entrances. Indoor banners signal the entryways for Baby Bay [entryway for newborn-24 months], Preschool Pier [entryway for 2s-young 5's], and Kids Kove [entryway for Kindergarten-4th grade], which is where you'll want to be.

Register and check in...

at the appropriate age-group area[s] or by visiting our Kids Welcoming Center in the North Hallway. Our staff and volunteers will assign your child[ren] to their appropriate room[s], and they’ll give you and your child[ren] matching wristbands, a safety precaution.

We meet during...

Mars Hill Gatherings—specifically, from 9-10:15am and from 11am-12:15pm on Sundays.

On Sundays, kids experience...

relationships with volunteers and age-appropriate programming, learning the story of God and the way of Jesus. Kids of all ages engage in both small- and large-group activities where they learn that their identity is in Christ, that they have belonging in the Church, and that they have a role to play in God's mission.

Pick up your child[ren]...

in the Kids areas after the Gathering, beginning at either 10:15am or 12:15pm. Kids will have a take-home sheet to help you know about that morning, including questions/ideas that families can talk about during the week.

When we made the mistake, we were quickly reminded of how important it was to not make it.

Kids usually get their official MHK nametag after three Sundays with us, but for some reason, on Kavar's fourth Sunday, he still had a visitor's nametag.

He also had tears in his eyes. Big ones. Stepping aside with one of our volunteers, his voice was strained and full of feeling. "I'm not a visitor!" he insisted.

We love welcoming visitors on Sundays, and we hope you'll join us sometime. But don't be surprised if, like Kavar, you won't want to stay a visitor for long. [We'll do our best to have your nametag ready.]

Our favorite questions are the ones kids like Greta and Adeline answer in finding ways to follow Jesus. [read more]
