House Churches

<  back

House Churches are one way of living out church in smaller groups. Each House Church is a unique blend of people who journey, love, and learn together to become more like Jesus.

If you're looking for new ways to engage in your House Church or in your personal spiritual journey, consider these.

Don’t Have A House Church?

House Churches, like our Neighborhood Networks and volunteer opportunities, are great places to belong, connect, and engage in mission at Mars Hill. Depending on your circumstances and the steps you're taking in your spiritual journey, belonging to a House Church might be the best way for you to pursue our shared values: going backward, forward, in ward, withward, outward, upward.

The typical size of a House Church is six to twelve people, but some are as large as 30. These groups can have many purposes: studying Scripture, praying, discussing current topics, sharing educational and inspirational resources, laughing, playing, eating, resting, offering support and encouragement, and working together to serve others.

Ask yourself

  • Do I desire to meet more people at Mars Hill?
  • Am I willing to make time in my schedule for regular meetings?
  • Can I commit to journeying with a group of people toward greater health, wholeness, and righteousness?
  • Am I ready to engage mission and to discern with a group of people what God may be calling us toward missionally?

If you can answer "Yes" to the above questions, then you might consider getting involved in a House Church.

How Do I Join?

Possibly the best way to join a House Church is to form a new one with people who are already in your life and around you. Contact Kindra Spyke for more information at info@marshill.org.

There are also established House Churches that are open to adding new members. To learn more, contact info@marshill.org.
